Alberta-based company has been selected to include their product, an orb-shaped nail file, in the gift bags for the Stars at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards in January. Melody Murphy, President and CEO of Jagorb International initially thought it was a hoax when she received an email from Rita Branch of Secret Room Events asking if she would like to be a gift bag sponsor.
Upon further research, Murphy discovered that Secret Room Events is responsible for the gift suites at the Golden Globe, Emmy and MTV Awards. “This was a huge surprise since our company is less than a year old,” says Murphy. “Secret Room Events is always on the lookout for new and unique products, and “The Jagorb” caught their interest when they saw it in LA Splash Magazine.”

LOS ANGELES British comedian Ricky Gervais has been picked as host of the Golden Globes, the first time in more than a decade that the Hollywood awards show has used an emcee. A more freewheeling affair than the Academy Awards and other Hollywood honors, the Globes are known as a place where stars can cut loose over dinner and drinks. Gervais said it was a good environment to give him free rein as host.
Ricky Gervais has been announced as the host of the Golden Globes 2010. The glittering ceremony, which has a reputation for being a big party event, has not had a set host for the past few years and instead invites different celebrities to take up the role. Gervais is said to have been singled out after his appearance at the ceremony this year when he presented an award to Kate Winslet.
SIX years after Ricky Gervais caused an upset at The Golden Globes – when The Office beat better known programs such as Arrested Development and Sex and the City for the best comedy trophy and Gervais was named best comedy actor – the British comedian will return to host the awards on January 17, according to Variety. It will be the first time since 1995 that the show has had a host. The organisers hired Gervais because of his appearance as a presenter last year when he teased The Reader star Kate Winslet about finally winning her first statuette from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. "I told you. Do a Holocaust movie and the awards come. Didn't I?"
