Golden Globe and SAG champs Juliana Margulies and Michael C. Hall are not automatic Emmy winners

July 23, 2010 |10:38 | Gossips  By : Team X

Beware: Some Emmy-watchers are making a false assumption about the races for best lead actor and actress in the drama series. They believe Michael C. Hall ("Dexter") and Julianna Margulies ("The Good Wife") are shoo-ins to win on Aug. 29 because they've already bagged the Golden Globe and SAG Award earlier this year. Not necessarily so!Only rarely do the three awards line up, probably because their voting systems vary so much. Winners of Globes and SAG Awards are decided by a popular ballot, but the Emmy is a juried award chosen after a small group of judges views one sample episode submitted by every nominee in the category.

Occasionally, the three prizes do concur – as when James Gandolfini ("The Sopranos") won best drama actor at the Emmys a few months after triumphing at the Globes and SAG in 2000. Ditto, Gillian Anderson ("The X-Files") in 1997 and Edie Falco ("The Sopranos") in 2003. However, all of the following actors failed to repeat at the Emmys soon after sweeping the Globes and SAG: Dennis Franz ("NYPD Blue") in 1995, Anthony Edwards ("ER") in 1998 and Hugh Laurie ("House M.D.") in 2007.

Golden Globe-nominated actress Anne Jeffreys heaped praise on Shen Yun Performing Arts after taking in the show at The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Thursday night.

“I loved it. I thought it was beautiful. It was informative and the dancers were glorious. The costumes were so beautiful and the precision. I liked everything about the show,” said Ms. Jeffreys, who has acted on stage and in more than 40 films.

Besides working along side Frank Sinatra, she has appeared on L.A. Law, Murder She Wrote, the original Battlestar Galactica and has her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

"There were so many people on the stage and they were all so graceful. I just loved it. And colorful, the costumes were gorgeous. The dancing was unbelievable.”

9, Golden Globes Edition

June 15, 2010 |17:08 | Gossips  By : Team X

Most of you probably watched the Golden Globe arrivals on TV, but I was behind a glass window facing the red carpet on Sunday afternoon. The most fashionable accessory at the ceremony wasn't sparkly or even very expensive: it was a sea of red and white umbrellas that shielded the celebrities from the rain. Some stars (Taylor Lautner, Bradley Cooper) managed to stay dry, others (Harrison Ford, Sandra Bullock) weren't so lucky, and Robert Downey, Jr.'s tux was as soggy as Sherlock Holmes's trenchcoat. Toni Collette (best actress in a drama winner for.

The United States of Tara) summed it up best when she told the press room backstage that after she left her house, "I walked out into the rain, the chaos." Maybe that wasn't a bad way to prepare for a night with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the group of journalists who hand out the awards.
